Kangaroos and Cemetaries…

…two things that fascinate me.

Kangaroos are just plain interesting animals…and the ones who live in the Moree Cemetary and the neighbouring golf course (because there’s always water during droughts in those two places) are beauitfully tame.

And growing up, the local cemetary – which is a very short walk from my childhood home – was a great place to ride a bike, play in the water sprinklers on a hot summers day (with the kangaroos) and learn about town history.

Like the fact Charles Dickens’ son died here.

You already knew I was a bit weird.

On The Road…

…again…seeing places I’ve seen a bazillion times…but not for quite a while.

This weekend, following the auction of our apartment, Diane and I have taken a quick roadtrip up to Moree – my hometown – to help out my mum following some foot surgery.

We’re helping her out by driving her home, via Mudgee where my 80 year old aunt lives and who we’ve not seen for 15 months.

It’s the first time we’ve both been to Moree since September, though I was there myself in October.  Either way, it’s quite a long time really.

It’s a hyperquick trip though.  We’re only going to be gone one night, and are flying back to Sydney just a matter of hours after we arrive in Moree.

Why am I telling you this?  Uh…so you can keep us in our prayers, for safe travel, and that Diane – recovering from a sprained ankle and the sale of our home – won’t feel added strain from such a quick trip. Thanks! You can pray for me too – to maintain the sea of calm that Diane seems to think that I am :)
