Eveleigh Produce Market

Life 'n' That

We visited the fresh produce market at Eveleigh Carriageworks today.

We even bought some fresh produce along with the amazing breakfast of porridge and bacon & egg rolls.

This development is a great use if this once-derelict site, with the Carriageworks now the setting for a contemporary theatre space

We love the arts, sweetie.

It is great to have a farmers market where you can get fresh produce. Hopefully they will do enough business to be open more than once a week.

We have other markets that are open daily. This one is only intended to be once a week so I doubt it will become more frequent. Many specialty farmers markets are once a month to allow the producers to travel between the various ones which take place across the greater Sydney region (which is huge, and somewhere between 20 & 25% of the national population live there…)

Yep :D Very very yum.

Our favourite discovery was a company which does healthy snacks. They are 100% vegetable + spices, etc, and dried into delicious crisps. Mmmmmmmm. Expensive though, like all boutique produce unfortunately.

LOVE a great produce market…I think it is a great symbol of the area and community.
