i can honestly say i would NEVER have thought i would see a talk on tachyons video in a Sunday Setlist blogpost – even from a fellow Aussie!

How inno VAY tive can one get?

Tachyons are theoretical (ie so far never been detected or proven to exist) faster-than-light, massless, sub-atomic 'particles' ( waveform probabilities) and so somewhat 'related' to the (known to exist) photon which is the sub atomic massless particle that travels at exactly the (theoretical maximum 'speed' in the Universe) speed of light which permits us to 'see' the Universe around us ( albeit at a very 'slow' limited 'rate' . ( it would take light 28 or more billion years to travel from one 'side' of the known Universe to the other)

It is important that these particles have NO mass ( ie 'physical' existence other than their 'energy' which, if Einstein is correct, must also equal 'zero' since E = mc squared) since Einstein and Lorenz's equations for matter traveling at relativistic speeds up to the limit of the speed of light show that any mass approaching the speed of light increases to infinity as it's velocity relative to our reference frame ( and all other reference frames) approaches 'c' ( m = m at 'rest' ( v = o) times 1/square root of (v squared – c squared))

If tachyons (or something like them) do actually exist then it is feasible that information can be obtained 'here and now' of things that have not 'yet' happened on our human time line and concepts of time and space as we usually experience them.

Similarly it would be possible to 'send' information into our own past or to all intents let us gather information from two different places in space at 'the same time' or even 'ahead of time' ??

And it does make a lot of sense, as well as being a great conversation starter. I had one such discussion today with one of my staff who is a JW.

Meanwhile, I've yet to hear the junkdesk recording of Who Tha King?, but I'm almost certain it won't be consumable by the public yet. But I plan on recording it in one of our August sessions, so we'll need to keep workshopping it over the next few weeks. Especially the black choir vocals bit…since we're not very black. But, this will be FUN!
