Worship : Easter Weekend

Vlog, Worship+

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too!

Time for our weekly worship vlog aka Return of the Lipsmackers.

This week includes the singing that we hinted at last time, but you have to endure wait right til the end.  Apologies for the slight distortion in there…I clearly needed to reduce the gain on my mic when I was singing (ie: be further away ;) .  Then there’s the other rubbish I did in place of harmonies.  Anyway…

We had a GREAT day today…one of those that’s becoming more common; where the Holy Spirit takes over and the program gets put to the side. I. Love. This. There’s a bit about that in the vlog. Kinda.

So have a look, and share in our Easter. HE IS RISEN!

Music

Good Friday
1. Worthy Is The Lamb (Murgida/Harbourside)
2. Lead Me To The Cross (Fraser/Hillsong)
3. At The Foot Of The Cross (Ashes To Beauty) (Scott/Vineyard)

No words needed, it’s in the vlog.

Resurrection Sunday
1. Tell The World (Houston/Hillsong)
2. Happy Day (Hughes, Cantelon)
3. This Is Our God (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong)
4. Mighty To Save (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong)
…and…
5. The Anthem (Seeley/Planetshakers)
6. How Great Is Our God (Tomlin, etc)
…and closed with Happy Day again.

Again, it’s all in the vlog.  Except to say we did a great transition from This Is Our God to Mighty To Save that was refreshing and unexpected without being confusing – it’s good to mix up arrangements a little here and there.

Other Stuff

Healing testimonies continued…this week, a young guy who broke his arm and had it in plaster testified of it being completely healed.  His doctor agreed and removed the plaster after only a few days of it being on!

Today though, the key phrase was free favours from God. Read Luke 4:18-19 in the Amplified version to see what that’s all about, and have a great Easter! Today, and everyday!

Tell me about your Easter : how did God show His presence in your church this week?

Thanks Justin :) You are too kind. And At The Foot Of The Cross is a long time favourite…seeing Kathryn Scott is from Northern Ireland, and all that !

Kathryn's great. I'm totally drawn in by her disarming "normality" and complete love for God

It is fun. I miss it now Diane's on the tech desk. And I'd like to do more of just us too. I think we'll have to make that happen :)

I'm so glad I came "over" to visit! Love your set list, and really enjoyed watching your video. Sounds as though you had an awesome service!

I'm glad you came over here too Trisha! I love sharing in the worship experiences of everyone around the world, so thanks for visiting and sharing in our day too.

Well, we had the same idea on a couple of songs (Lead Me To The Cross just seemed to show up a LOT this weekend!). IT sounds like a great couple of services – I'd LOVE to so 100+ minutes of solid worshiping… but I"m not sure I can pull that one off. I do get 60 min. one a month though, so I'll take it!
I am going to have to look into At The Foot Of The Cross & Happy Day tho – your rendition sounded lovely!
Thanks for sharing your weekend, and for stopping by.

okay, so i could already stand to listen to you both talk all day long. NOW — you might need to sing together each week too. yup. love it. and actually, "At the Foot of the Cross" is one of my favorite songs ever… and have actually asked Jenni to sing it at LGO but she didn't/doesn't know it. no one EVER knows it. leave it to an Aussie and Northern Irish lady to know it and sing it together!!!

love love love it.

What a treat – thanks for sharing!!

Ess particularly loved the the fairy dust bringing your final word to the screen. :)

I particularly loved hearing that gorgeous song. We need to hear each other sing such beautiful songs more often.

Love Cee

Great Easter Sunday! I think Happy Day was one of the top songs this Easter. Perfect song to celebrate the Resurrection. I love "At the foot of the Cross". Well honestly I love all your songs :) Thanks for sharing.

Great set, David. I still trying to get the hang of 'vlogging', but it looks like you've got it down. What a wonderful song to weave your voices around.

Hahahaha. Diane will be very happy to hear about the perfect teeth thing – she's self critical about her teeth, and would hardly ever smile when I first met her.

Meanwhile, for me – one of my front teeth is fake (see this post for more info on that if you care)…

I've no idea how any of that is related though…

It was great Mike. And yeah, there was lots of common songs this week around the world. Thankfully Conner Byrd (@worshipcity) did a tally of the top songs for us all to see where we all came up :)

David

Glad we picked At The Foot Of The Cross – it's a personal fave for both of us.

And Happy Day has to be one of the funnest songs to sing – great to see the whole church unified in dance :D

David
April 14, 2009

And maybe we will have to sing each week too – I could cope with that since it doesn't happen on stage anymore.

We tried to meet Kathryn Scott once…but she was in the US when we were staying just down the road from hers back in NI…

David
April 14, 2009

It's a beautiful song, and Kathryn Scott sings it better than me…though I think Diane does a great job. Admittedly, we weren't really in the best position for singing in this video! ^_^

It was so amazingly beautiful to share Easter with so many people around the world, via Twitter and blogs. It made this Easter quite unlike any other…even if it didn't quite go to plan. Glad you enjoyed our mini-worship session too – I'm pretty fond of how we sound together :D

Loved spying on your guys too via Mogulus – I'll likely do that again.

David
April 14, 2009

We do. So now you're all Mac'd up you'll have to get some vids with the girls singing lovely songs for us too :) Loveya!

PS…the fairy dust was just for Ess, so I'm glad she saw it

David
April 14, 2009

We were tired…it had been a long day with a lot of other stuff happening, but a great day it was. God is good, all the time.

David
April 14, 2009

Happy Day was #2 apparently (though there was only 49 entries on Fred's post when Conner (@worshipcity) did his stats).

Mighty To Save was top of the hit list…so we helped out on both counts…haha. Thanks for visiting as always Steff :)

David
April 14, 2009

Thanks!. Though we've got a long way to go on the vlogging really. It's fun to do it together as a mini interview, but I should do a bit more editing I think :) Kim Bontrager & Jenni Clayville do more slick vlogging, so check theirs out (both did vlogs for Palm Sunday).
