Diane and I are just back from City Invasion training. This is a new targeted evangelism outreach in our church encouraging us to be more Acts-like in our Christ-following. It’s exciting and scary, just like Jesus himself.
But He’s who I want to imitate so that’s what I want to be – an exciting, scary lover of people.
I’m excited and scared about this.
None of which has anything to do with the purpose for this post.
Well, that’s not strictly true. It’s related … but very indirectly.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve posted a couple of times about the recording process our worship team is undertaking this year.
So today we’re heading into the studio next door to our church to record the fun, retro pop-R&B song “Shout You Praise”, written by some of the cool high-schoolers in our team. This is a slight change from our original plans due to some ‘logistical issues’, but no matter – there’s a lot of recording to do over the next few months.
I’ll get to sing on some of the tracks as we go along, and we’re also recording a few of my songs, but my main job for the project is producer.
I’ve done a little bit of this, but always on my own stuff, and a long time ago.
So…any advice?
And the only qualification you need to be able to give me advice is the ability to type something down there in responses. You’ll know from previous posts that I don’t take myself too seriously, so any and all suggestions are welcome. I think.
